about Board Certified Behavior Analyst

About the Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification Exam

In 1998, the BACB created BCBA certification to provide customers with a fundamental credential that defined trained practitioners in behavioural analysis. Today, in several states, the BCBA  remains not only a prestigious certification but a licensing prerequisite, and many more have developed mandates for autism insurance that require behaviour analysts to hold the BCMA qualification for insurance reimbursement purposes. The BCBA certification remains much in demand for applied behaviour analysts and a common standard for employers, even in states with no national qualification standards.

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification is majorly classified into two domains, which is further divided into sub-groups. They are:

  • Basic behaviour analytic skills
    • Measurement
    • Experimental design
    • Behaviour change considerations
    • Fundamental elements of behaviour change
    • Specific behaviour change procedures
    • Behaviour change systems
  • Client-centred responsibilities
    • Identification of the problems
    • Measurement
    • Assessment
    • Intervention
    • Implementation, management, and supervision.
